Conditions Treated

Here at Giust Chiropractic Center in Brookhaven, MS, our lead chiropractor Dr. Mark Giust specializes in treating a variety of conditions. These include long-term chronic injuries and medical conditions that cause pain, swelling, inflammation, and immobility.

Dr. Giust and his chiropractic team administer techniques like spinal decompressions, manipulations, and adjustments. These chiropractic techniques get to the root cause of your pain, addressing and correcting this.

Not only should you notice a reduction in symptoms, but the pain should disappear as well. This is a stark difference from medications, which only reduce symptoms without treating the true cause of pain.

Back Pain

Back pain is the #1 cause of physical disability around the world. So it’s important to understand how to prevent the causes of back pain.

By maintaining a healthy spine, remaining active and avoiding physical stress are all important.

The most powerful tool for keeping your spine in shape is chiropractic adjustments.

Neck Pain

The neck, also called the cervical spine, begins at the base of the skull and contains seven small vertebrae. The cervical spine supports the full weight of your head which is on average about 12 pounds. While the cervical spine can move your head in nearly every direction, this flexibility makes the neck very susceptible to pain and injury.

Shoulder Pain

Nearly have of the U.S. feel some sort of shoulder pain, limited range of motion, or struggle with engaging in everyday activity.

Shoulder pain is a serious problem for people because it can significantly limit what they are able to do.

Knee Pain

More and more Americans are experiencing knee pain.

It’s a complaint a lot of our patients have.

Knee pain may be normal “wear and tear”, but it’s equally likely to be caused by weak muscles in the thighs or back.

These muscles can be weakened by a misaligned spine, or subluxation, and is easily correctable.

Sciatica

Sciatica is can feel dull or sharp, achy or pins’n’needles, or even like electric shocks.

No matter how yours presents itself, it’s very uncomfortable and makes life difficult.

The cause is generally from irritation of the sciatic nerve. This nerve runs through your lower back, into your pelvis and down your legs.

A subluxation in the spine can put pressure on the sciatic nerve, causing irritation and inflammation–which results in the symptoms mentioned above.

Herniated and Bulging Discs

Either through aging, or trauma, the discs in your spine may degenerate and cause pain.

Theses discs sit between your vertebrae acting like a gel-filled cushion.

As you can imagine, being made of what’s essentially water and soft cartilage, these discs are vulnerable to injury.

Injured discs don’t really heal on their own, they require treatment.

The best treatment for many patients is decompression. This allows pressure to be taken off the injured disc(s) and to allow water and nutrients to flow into the site of trauma so healing can take place without drugs or surgery.
